Iceland Pride – Reykjavik

Forget The Geysers, Our Girls Rocked Iceland

Never The Bride – Britain’s best kept rock secret, kicked off Iceland’s Gay Pride on Thursday.

The four-day celebration includes parties, parades and theatre shows throughout the capital Reykjavik.

Nikki Lamborn and Catherine (Been) Feeney, blew the crowd away with a stellar set including: April Rain, The Living Tree, Mercedes-Benz and Take a Piece of My Heart. They took control of the stage with a huge gathering of newly made fans and revelled in the enjoyment from the growing throng of people. After a standing ovation Nikki announced: “We will sign your albums and your mother’s too.” Imagine their surprise when fans brought their mother’s to be signed, which added to the fun of the event.

Having supported the likes of Alice Cooper and ZZ Top, Never The Bride have definitely made a worldwide name for themselves. They already have a loyal following in Oslo, Norway and have now made their mark in Reykjavik.

Finishing their Pride appearance on Saturday with an outdoor concert in Arnarholl, the spectacular vocalist Nikki, and keyboard playing composer Been have earned their place among the rock sensations of our time.

Iceland’s gay scene is small and centres on its capital. As a result it is intimate, friendly and welcomes input from abroad – it certainly welcomed Never The Bride with open arms. See you next year…
