Salon Concerts

A NEVER THE BRIDE Salon Concert is an unforgettable experience, a journey through our lives taking you on board…

Although very well established in America, Salon Concerts are a relatively new concept here in the UK and Europe. They offer a chance to see great artists who are often only over in a country for a very short time and these concerts can be added at very short notice. The two of us, Nikki Lamborn on vocals and Catherine ‘Been’ Feeney on piano, have played at quite a few over in the USA. As all had a great time, we thought we’d like to do more Salon Concerts, both here at home in the UK and around the world.

If you’ve seen us perform, you already know we give you our all with our real woman blues, inspire you with our passion and at the same time make your spirit soar. We would love to get our music out there to more people and that’s where you come in. We would love you to be our ‘Host’.

Read further down the page for an overview on how Salon Concerts work. They don’t actually have to be in your home, they can be in a cafe, your village or local church hall, a club house or garden, a local venue, just about anywhere you have available for you to be host to a Never The Bride experience.

Dame Shirley Bassey:
Hearing Nikki sing “The Living Tree,” said: “I got goose bumps and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up”. After Bassey recorded and performed live with Never the Bride, she described the experience as “Inspirational”.

Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2:
Never The Bride: “Nikki Lamborn is a wonderful vocalist.”

Roger Daltrey of The Who:
Nikki Lamborn is “the best rock voice since Janis Joplin.”

A Salon Concert is a private gig that you hold at your own home or somewhere local and send personal invitations. We have a lovely fan base and some may live within travelling distance who you may also like to invite to join the party. In that case we can post details on our website and social networking sites, but you’re the host and you will always have the final say on guests.

The audience should be a minimum of 20 people and up to as many as you can comfortably invite, 30 or so still keep this an intimate performance. If you should decide to go for a garden party, the audience size can increase.

Depending on the event and location we can suggest an amount to charge per person and this should ideally be collected in advance. Contact us regarding how this payment is to be passed on to Never The Bride. You can have the collected ticket money ready as cash and pay us on the night of the concert or alternatively, once collected, you could make payment to our PayPal account, whichever way is best for you.

Our performance will start around 8.00pm – 8.30pm, approximately a one hour set, with an encore always assured for a receptive audience. We would suggest your guests arrive at least 30 minutes or so before we begin so they can have a drink, chat or whatever and be ready for the concert.

Food and drinks… you can either supply or ask the invited guests to bring along a plate and a bottle. Food is not a necessity for guests but we imagine they’ll all enjoy a refreshment. If you can feed us, that will be appreciated.

Merchandise, CDs etc… We will have a selection available for purchase on the night. After the concert, we will be very happy to chat with all, sign CDS etc.

Accommodation… if we should decide to stay over, we would appreciate you recommending local accommodation.

Finally, come and get us…
